Complimentary Workshops

Three complimentary workshops will be held on November 11, 2018 before the opening gala.

The three workshops will be held concurrently.

Registration for the workshop is required.  Spaces are limited.

You must make separate registration for the workshop.  To register for one of the workshops, click here.

WORKSHOP 1: MSIREADER

MSiReader is an open-source vendor-neutral software to view and perform data analysis of Mass Spectrometry Imaging (MSI) Data. This workshop will inform users on basic functions within the software, time savers when processing data, and advanced functions. MSiReader is community grown software so bring your needs to the Workshop as we will take that input in the final part of the Workshop.
Limit: 25 people

WORKSHOP 2: METASPACE

In the METASPACE workshop, we will explain the challenge and pitfalls of searching for metabolites in imaging mass spectrometry data. We will present how it can be done using METASPACE, an open-source cloud software. We will walk you through the bioinformatics methods behind METASPACE, give a step-by-step tutorial and a demo on how it can be used. We will show how the METASPACE community knowledge base of over 3000 datasets contributed by users can be searched, browsed, and used in your research.
Limit: 35 people

WORKSHOP 3: IMAGING MASS SPECTROMETRY OF GLYCAN AND MATRIX PATHOLOGY

This lecture-focused workshop will include discussion on histological stains and imaging mass spectrometry approaches for N-glycans and extracellular matrix proteins. Hosted by the Medical University of South Carolina Proteomics Center.

Limit: 25 people
